Which Mouthwash Should You Use

The process of using mouthwash seems pretty simple: swish, gargle and spit. But, what most people misunderstand is not all mouthwash is created equal. In fact, do you know if you’re using the right kind of mouthwash while being treated at Bailey Orthodontics?

Mouthwash is used for a variety of reasons. Check out those reasons right here:

1. · freshen your breath,
2. · helps to prevent dental decay,
3. · reduce the amount of plaque, or
4. · to prevent or reduce gingivitis (an early stage of gum disease)

Even though there are basic ingredients in a mouthwash (water, cleansing agents, flavoring ingredients, etc.) they tend to differ with their active ingredients. Again, not all mouthwash is created equal.

The main types of mouth rinses are:

• Odor neutralizers
• Antibacterial mouthwash
• Fluoride mouthwash

If you have any questions make sure to ask us the next time you’re in for an appointment. We can help guide you when deciding what kind of mouthwash will be best for your particular oral health. Also, remember, although it can become part of your daily oral hygiene regime, mouthwash is not a substitute for brushing or flossing.

How to get tickets:  ACTIVE PATIENTS will need to call our office on Monday, November 14, 2016 starting at 9:00AM to reserve the tickets. 

The wristbands must be picked up by 5:00PM on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. If wristbands are not picked up they will be forfeited. The wristbands are the only way they will be able to enter the theater.
